For campers entering 1st - 4th grade, Counselors-in Training 5th -7th grade
Monday - Friday the weeks of May 28 - July 26, 9am - 5pm with an option of 8am - 6pm
We will spend most of our time exploring the Cahaba River - it is shallow there. We will fish, search for macroinvertebrates (mayflies, dragonflies, etc.) along with critters (crawdads and salamanders). Yes, turning over rocks in a creek bed is just as much fun as it always was! This award-winning science camp focuses on hands-on field biology. We have a space where we will perform experiments and learn the scientific method. We have accolades from teachers telling us how much our campers learn! (But they don't know it -- they are having so much fun!
Dr. Matt Brown spent 14 years teaching at the UAB Medical School, but loves teaching kids. Truly, he is a magical instructor. He has a PhD in microbiology and is a herpetologist.
